LS9 control of PM5D/DSP5D
So, playing around today with controlling the 5D from an LS9. It's useable, but still missing some major features. Thought I would start a thread about it and list what I know can be controlled so far and what cannot. Maybe others can add to the list and look at workarounds? I haven't checked out all functions so this is just a preliminary list...
Controllable:
- Faders 1-48 and Stereo 1-4
- Channel On/Off
- EQ - all parameters EXCEPT HPF on/off and Type I/II. HPF frequency works, though.
- Comp/Gate parameters (DYN1 on LS9 is always GATE on 5D, DYN2 on LS9 is always COMP on 5D)
- Mixes 1-16 - Send Level, Pre/Post, On/Off, Master Level
- Graphics (GEQ 1 on 5D is 1A on LS9, GEQ 2 on 5D is 1B on LS9 and so on)
- Attenuator
- Mute Masters
Not Controllable:
- HA gain and phantom
- Mute group on channel
- HPF on/off
- DCA fader or assignment
- Input Patch
- Mixes 17-24 levels

Hi Andy,
Was this with a LS9-16 or 32?

Re: LS9 control of PM5D/DSP5D
You'd have to midi from the LS9 to a PM5D. You might be able to do it directly between the LS9 and DSP5D via the CAT5 but I'm not sure that the DSP5D would respond to midi commands from the LS9 directly.
