Loading libraries from memory cards Empty Loading libraries from memory cards

Post  RogerPhillip Fri Jan 18, 2008 10:34 am

I have loaded separate files on my memory card for input patch; GEQ settings etc. Now what? What happens to them when I bring them back in to the console. Do they load in to the current scene? Are they planted back in the respective libraries? I can't seem to find them when I re-load them.
Here's the situation. When a outside engineer loads his show in to my PM5D I need to re-create my output routings and GEQ settings for my mains and floor-fills which are driven from the matrix, and derive from the LR buss. I know I can protect those scenes from being overwritten but how do I load individual libraries on top of current scenes.
TIA for your assistance.

Loading libraries from memory cards Empty Re: Loading libraries from memory cards

Libraries are just that... Libraries. Settings of parameters are stored there for recall into scenes. When you are storing a library, all you are saving are that list of parameter settings.

The real issue you have is, how you are bringing a mix into your desk will affect how you can set up your system settings. If you are merely recalling a scene from a PC card, your libraries that contain your system settings should still remain for recall into the "current" scene. More importantly, "recall safe" can be set to not allow recall of a scene to write over your matrix settings and processing.

If you recall something, such as an "all" console file that writes over your libraries that you need, you could recall those libraries from your card, and place them into the "current" scene.

You may be looking at a more complicated solution to a problem than you need. If you don't have a solid understanding of "recall safe" check it out and see if it is something you can make use of for your particular needs.

Hope this helps.
