Pairing chanels
I noticed that when I pare two channels for lets say a cd player, the amplitude goes down a bit (maybe 2 db)
Any one knows why this is?

channel pair
pairing two channels ties not just channel faders, but dynamics, delay, and PEQ. Pairing on panel copies settings from the source channel (first selected) to the slave channel. Pairing from the display prompts you to select your source channel, odd ->even, or even ->odd. Any EQ cuts or attenuation will copy from the source channel to the slave. This might be the signal loss you are experiencing.
Also, check your analog gain stage and make sure both head amps are set to the same gain. For stereo playback, I would reccomend using one of the ST input pairs. If you are on a 5D-RH, you can gang head amps together. This acts more like a DCA than a level pair, so any difference in head amp gain is maintained. e.g., if headamp 1 is 3dB below headamp 2, head amp gang maintains a -3dB difference between the two head amps. Simply pairing 2 flat channels should not cause any sort of loss.
