hi i'm new in the foro but not with pm5d
i have a big problem in the sync process because my notebook recognize the usb-midi but only doit untill 95%i
i reseted the pm5d rh but still the problem

sync studio manager Empty SM usb drivers

reinstall yamaha usb-midi drivers. make sure the 5D editor is engaged on the right port (port 1 by default) and also double check system settings in SM to engage the midi ports and 5D editor to assign the correct i/o port.
